The Academic Association for Doctoral Students at the Department of English Nicolaus Copernicus University, Toruń, Poland
The Academic Association for Doctoral Students at the Department of English, NCU was created in April 2012. Its members are PhD students connected with the Department of English at NCU.
The Association's goals include:
- Providing young adepts of English philology with a space for exchange of thought and academic discussion.
- Popularising recent trends within the sphere of interests of English philology studies, including the fields of English language cultural studies, studies on didactics and language inquisition, linguistics, literary studies and translation studies, as well as other disciplines that constitute the object of academic inquiry for the Members of the Association, including interdisciplinary studies.
- Academic activity connected with the fields of interest of English philology studies, and especially with the fields of interest of the Members, carried out through organising debates, meetings, lectures, as well as taking part in academic sessions, meetings and conferences, and other forms of academic activity.
In June 2012, the founding Members elected the Association's first board, which included mgr Ewa Bodal, mgr Nelly Strehlau and mgr Anna Jaskólska.
From April 2012 until November 2013 the Association's Academic Supervisor was dr hab. Anna Branach-Kallas.
Since November 2013, the Association's Academic Supervisor has been dr hab. Edyta Lorek-Jezińska.
